As of March 23, the Fulton City Commission will implement videoconferencing as a means by which the city's business will be conducted. The Current will participate in the meeting, and will publish a full report of the meeting in the March 25 print edition of The Current, as well as the website, www.thecurrent.press, with a link available from The Current's facebook page to access the meeting published on the website.

The following information was received by The Current from Fulton City Manager Mike Gunn:

Due to the current pandemic crisis and social distancing guidelines in the United States of America and Kentucky, we, the City of Fulton, Kentucky, will be conducting City Commission meetings using a video conferencing app called "Zoom" or "Zoom Cloud". The public is welcome to view or participate as this is a public meeting although in a different manner than the normal procedure.

To connect to the app, installed on a smartphone, tablet or laptop, free of charge, enter the link https://zoom.us/j/2583657014 at the time scheduled for the meeting March 23, 6 p.m., or a few minutes prior, for connection. Another way to view and participate in the videoconference meeting is to enter the link for the meeting, https://zoom.us/j/2583657014, and when prompted, the meeting ID to enter is 258-365-7014.

Once the meeting screen is accessed, choices are available for "speaker" view or "gallery" view, enabling the viewer to see the individual speaking, and/or all meeting participants, respectively. Another function available on the screen is a "raise your hand" feature, or a "chat" feature, which will be available at the designated time, following the meeting's agenda, for participation, questions or concerns.

This Monday's 6 p.m. regular session of the commission will include the following items listed on the agenda: invocation; pledge of allegiance; roll call; city attorney's report; consider municipal order 2019-133, approval of the minutes of the March 9, 2020 meeting; remarks and requests from visitors; voucher review; second reading of city ordinance 2020-01, amending chapter 40, article III, collection and disposal of refuse, subsection 61, definitions, 64, deposits on streets, gutter, sidewalk or sewer right-of-way prohibited, 75, enforcement; second reading of city ordinance 2020-02, to allow worship centers and ancillary buildings in all zones under a conditional land use permit granted by the board of zoning adjustments; municipal order 2019-134, providing for leave under the families first coronavirus response act; other business from city manager, commissioners, city attorney and mayor; adjourn.
