Carl David Mann of South Fulton, passed away Sept. 10 in Waverly, Tenn. He was 74.

He was born on March 7, 1946 in Fulton, to the late James Adrian and Evelyn Lemond Mann.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fulton, and was also a member of the former Jaycees. He retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a Tire Builder.

He loved coaching when he was younger and was an avid bowler, as well as an avid golfer.

He had most recently been employed as a Security Guard at the Discovery Park of America in Union City, Tenn.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Rogers Mann, to whom he was married Feb. 25, 2003; four daughters, Debbie (Rick) MacDonald of Counce, Tenn., Lisa Cathey of South Fulton, Sherri (Jason) Proctor of South Fulton, Denise Mann of South Fulton; two step-children; Kevin Campbell and Eva Brady both of South Fulton; five grandchildren, Valerie Cathey Bynum of Fulton, Curtis (Allie) Cathey of South Fulton, David Proctor of South Fulton, Brittney Proctor of South Fulton, Samantha Mann of South Fulton; three step-grandchildren, Crystal Brady of Obion, Tenn., Hunter (Josie) Brady of Tiptonville, Tenn., and Gracie St. John of South Fulton; four great-grandchildren, Dylan Bynum of South Fulton, Lucas, Sophia and Charlie Cathey all of South Fulton; one step great-grandchild Braxton McElrath of Obion, Tenn.; three brothers, Leon Mann of South Fulton, Johnny (Gladys) Mann of Hampton, Va., and Bobby (Myra) Mann of Gilbertsville, Ky.; two sisters; Bodie Carolyn (Waymon) Duncan of Calvert City, Ky. and Mae (Bill) Croft of Jefferson, Ind.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; James William Mann, Arnold Adrian “Snooky” Mann, George Donald Mann, Shirley Ann Mann Wade, Emma Gene Mann Bright, Robert Thomas Mann and Marshall Dwayne Mann; and a son-in-law Charles Cathey.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sept. 13 in the Hornbeak Funeral Home funeral chapel in Fulton. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Sunday until the hour of service.
