#LENNONSTRONG

September 28, 2020

A colorful sign was in the yard across from the home of Greg and Teresa Black in Hickman Sept. 22 to honor their 4-year-old granddaughter Lennon Black, who was diagnosed with cancer in February. She is the daughter of Jay Black and Erika Black. Approximately 200 – 250 vehicles, including local emergency responders and members of the community decorated their vehicles and drove down Black Road, to welcome Lennon and her family home from Nashville’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital, turning around in the yard before heading back into town. Fulton County Schools’ principals, teachers, and students boarded a bus to be a part of the community parade of support and a parade for Lennon made its way down the narrow one lane road. Lennon Kash Black passed away on the night of Sept. 25, surrounded by her family. Services were held Sept. 29 at West Hickman Baptist Church, followed by burial in Hickman City Cemetery.
