DEC. 5 FULTON TOURISM COMMISSION'S CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK...SANTA WILL BE THERE! DEC. 5 FULTON TOURISM COMMISSION'S CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK...SANTA WILL BE THERE!

Santa and all his helpers will relocate from Fulton's Pontotoc Community Center, to the Pontotoc Park gazebo this year, as the Fulton Tourism Commission's Christmas In the Park is set to take place on Saturday.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 5, families may visit with Santa, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty, the Grinch and Mrs, Claus, in the park's gazebo, surrounded with Christmas trees, making for a perfect photo opportunity.

There is no charge for the Santa visits.

Inside the Pontotoc Park community building, the Twin Cities Men's Organization will again stage their annual chili supper fundraiser, this year, pre-packaged, "to-go", and including Wendy's chili, a hot dog, chips, a cookie and a drink for a $5 donation. All proceeds go to the T.C.M.O., for their project to provide clothing and other necessities to children and youth in the Fulton Independent and South Fulton Schools.

A Story Walk will also be available in the park, at no cost, sponsored by the Fulton County Extension Service and the Fulton Independent Schools Community Education Coordinator, Olivia Crawford. Families with children may follow a path throughout the park, where excerpts from the book, "There was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow" will be displayed for reading. At the end of the path, children will be given a copy of the book and a take-home activity packet.

The lighting of the Community Christmas Tree, mounted atop the Ponototoc Park fountain, and a fireworks show will complete the evening's activities, with those in attendance also encouraged to stroll throughout the Park and Lake Street areas of downtown Fulton, to view the illuminated Community Christmas Cards now on display.
