Mrs. Jolene Alford, 72, of South Fulton, Tenn., and formerly of Dukedom, Tenn., passed away March 2, at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

She was born on October 5, 1948, in Fulton, Ky., to the late Mitchell and Theaether Nelson Powell.

Jolene was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle in Water Valley. She was a retired Postmaster for the United States Postal Service, where she worked in Martin, Tenn., and Dukedom. Jolene lived all of her life in this area.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Jay) Jackson of South Fulton, and Debbie Stuttle of Lake Villa, Ill.; four grandchildren, Trey Jackson of South Fulton, Kaitlin Lavris of Gurnee, Ill., Erin O'Connell of Naperville, Ill., and Lauren Sullivan of McComb, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren, Jack Lavris and James Lavris, both of Gurnee, and Gracie O'Connell of Naperville.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray Alford, who passed September 25, 2020; two brothers, James Alfred Powell and Eugene Powell; and a sister, Ivie Jean Powell Norvell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., March 8 in the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 Noon Monday until the hour of service.
