Howard C. Henderson, a resident of South Fulton, passed away Sun., June 27 at Union City Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on Dec. 27, 1939 in Obion County, Tenn. to Clayton and Virginia Howard Henderson.

He attended University of Tennessee at Martin where he received a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture and he was a member of South Fulton Methodist Church.

He was a heavy equipment operator salesman and worked for Road Builders in Union City and various other equipment companies before retiring from L. B. Smith.

After retiring, he started his own company, Henderson Equipment Sales.

He enjoyed attending Tennessee Walking Horse shows, trout fishing with his son, Tennessee Vols sports and Cardinal baseball.

His pride and joy was his partnership with his children, Beth and David in Henderson Colt Farms; raising Tennessee Walking horses. He had three World Champion Mare and Foal with Pusher’s Jr. Miss and her colts; Miss Martini, Double Martini and Give Me A Triple. Over the years raised and showed many other top colts.

Howard is survived by his daughter, Beth Henderson of Memphis, Tenn. and his son, David Henderson of Memphis, Tenn.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Jo Reams Henderson and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Wed., June 30 at 2 p.m. in the Hornbeak Funeral Home chapel in Fulton, with burial to follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service. Hornbeak Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
