Lorena Mae Damesworth, age 93, of Union City, Tenn., died Aug. 22 at her daughter’s residence in South Fulton.

She was born on Aug. 12, 1928 in Beech Bluff, Tenn. to the late Mack and Fannie Lee Johnson Allison.

She was a member of South Fulton Baptist and was the owner and operator of the former Little Castle in Fulton. She lived most of her life in this area.

She is survived by her children, Carolyn Byassee and Donnie (Jeanne) Cole, all of South Fulton, and Shelia Wright (Richard), of Union City; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Cole of Union City; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 29 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Allison, of St. Louis, Mo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ezell M. Cole to whom she married in 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1965; her second husband Bobby Damesworth to whom she was married to for 44 years; a son Jimmie Cole; a daughter Deborah Hicks; a son-in-law, J.R. Byassee; a brother, Tom Allison; two sisters, Shirley McDaniel and Maxine Morris; and a sister-in-law, Judy Allison.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 25 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, in Fulton. Burial followed in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the hour of service.
