AREA OBITUARIES – DAVID MATZ

David Matz, age 65, of Gleason, Tenn., died Aug. 22 at his residence.

He was born on June 20, 1956 in Cook County, Ill. to the late Nick and Hilda Harwood Matz.

He was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith and was the owner of Dave’s Used Cars and Auto Center in South Fulton. He lived all of his life in Dukedom, Tenn., and Weakley County.

He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Matz, of Gleason; a daughter, Mandy Hatela (Adam), of Gallatin, Tenn.; a son, Shannon Matz, of South Fulton; four grandchildren, Emily Matz and Jamie Krupa, both of South Fulton, and Aidan Hatela and Addison Hatela, both of Gallatin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 26 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, in Fulton. Burial followed in the Good Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 - 8 p.m. Aug. 25.
