Purchase Parkway Northbound Lane & Load Width Restriction at KY-TN State Line starts Monday, Nov 1

Overpass deck patching to include closure of KY 116/State Line Rd on Monday

PADUCAH, Ky. (Oct. 27, 2021) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans a work zone Lane and load width restriction for northbound traffic on the Purchase Parkway immediately at the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line starting Monday, November 1, 2021.

This northbound work zone lane and load width restriction at Kentucky mile point 0.0 is to allow concrete deck patching on the KY 116/State Line Road Overpass. Due to the location of the deck areas to be repaired, northbound traffic on the Purchase Parkway will have an 8 ft. maximum load width restriction while this work zone is in place.

The deck work will require KY 116/State Line Road to be closed immediately beneath the overpass on Monday only. This closure of KY 116 during the day on Monday is at mile point 12.41 between Homra Road and KY 2568 at the southwest edge of Fulton.

This work zone lane and 8 ft. load width restriction for Purchase Parkway northbound traffic is expected to remain up around the clock until sometime late in the day on Wednesday, Nov 3.

Northbound motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line. Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and bridge maintenance personnel are on the overpass deck in close proximity to traffic flow.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will attempt to provide timely updates should the work be completed earlier than expected.
