SFHS ‘STEM’ event Oct. 1

FREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EVENT SATURDAY, UNITY PARK IN SOUTH FULTON FREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EVENT SATURDAY, UNITY PARK IN SOUTH FULTON

The South Fulton High School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Club will sponsor an Emergency Preparedness event at South Fulton’s Unity Park Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Free presentations will be made, covering the introduction of STEM, Project Overview at 10 a.m.; Fire and Carbon dioxide, at 10:30 a.m.; Home Evacuation Plan at 11 a.m.; Weather Emergencies at 11:30 a.m.; and other group talks at 12 noon.

Those planning to attend will also have the opportunity to receive free emergency prep kits, first aid kits, fire and carbon dioxide alarms.

The event partners include University of Tennessee at Martin, Kiwanis Club of the Twin Cities, Ken-Tenn, Tennessee Valley Authority, South Fulton Fire Department, South Fulton Police Department, City of South Fulton, Ken-Tenn Food Bank and National Guard, NOAA.

The event is open to the public.
