AREA OBITUARIES – Bethyl Martin

Ms. Bethyl Marlene Martin, age 76, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Wed., Nov. 30, 2022 at the Diversicare of Martin.

She was born on Aug. 31, 1946 in Hickman, Ky., to the late James David Gilliland and Gladys Marie King Clark.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, Ky., and she enjoyed sewing, crafting and quilting. She lived all of her life in this area.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Matheny Simmons (Ashley), of South Fulton, Tenn., and Amy Matheny Weatherford (Robert), of Wingo, Ky.; four grandchildren, Brady Lane Simmons and Anna Marie Simmons, both of South Fulton, Tenn., and Ethan Lee Weatherford and Blake Matthew Weatherford, both of Wingo, Ky.; three sisters, Sandra Wright, of South Fulton, Tenn., Angela Clark, of South Fulton, Tenn., and Janice Glass, of Fulton, Ky.; and her partner and soul mate for 16 years, Clyde Sterling, of South Fulton, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sun., Dec. 4, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon Sunday until the hour of service.
