Brackets set for 2023 Kentucky First District basketball tournaments

The girls' and boys' Kentucky High School Athletic Association First District Basketball Tournament gets underway Feb. 20, with all games to be played at Carlisle County High School.

In girls' action, the top-seeded Fulton County Lady Pilots, winners of seven of their last eight games, will take on the Fulton City Lady Bulldogs Feb. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. Meanwhile, the host will look to defend their First District crown, as the second-seeded Comets will take on the third-seeded Hickman County Lady Falcons Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. The winners of those two games will advance and play for the First District championship Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m.

In boys' action, the top-seeded Carlisle County Comets will take on the fourth-seeded Fulton City Bulldogs Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m., while the second-seeded Hickman County Falcons will take on the reigning First District champions and third-seeded Fulton County Pilots Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. The winners of those two games will battle in the championship game Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
