PADUCAH, Ky. (March 8, 2023) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans to restrict Purchase Parkway and U.S. 51 Northbound traffic to one lane at the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line starting Monday, March 13, 2023.

This northbound work zone lane restriction on the Purchase Parkway and U.S. 51 at Kentucky mile point 0.0 is to allow deck work on the KY 116/State Line Road Overpass. This work zone restriction will have to remain in place around the clock to allow concrete used for the deck repairs to cure.

Motorists traveling U.S. 51 northbound from Tennessee into Kentucky should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the state line at the starting point for the Purchase Parkway. The work zone configuration may change from time to time to facilitate the required work.

Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

This work zone for bridge deck work is expected to be in place around the clock until sometime Wednesday afternoon, March 15.

This project is scheduled on a weather permitting basis.
