REPORTING FOR DUTY

March 12, 2023

South Fulton City Mayor David Lamb, South Fulton City Manager Joyce Gray and South Fulton Fire Department Chief Kenneth Walker were excited for the arrival of the SFFD new fire truck, after months of patience awaiting the completion of the process to equip the truck with specified details. The truck arrived on March 9, and is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee. The City of South Fulton received an Imminent Threat grant for the replacement of the fire truck, from Community and Rural Development, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The new truck is a 2023 Rosenbauer, which will be the “first out pumper”, according to Chief Walker, responding to all fire calls in the Twin Cities. The department’s fleet currently now consists of two pumpers, one tank, one brush vehicle, one rescue and two support vehicles. (Photo by Benita Fuzzell)
