AREA OBITUARIES -- CECIL LEE WADE
Mr. Cecil Lee Wade, age 92, of Barlett, Tenn. and formerly Fulton, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Jordan River Health Campus in Collierville, Tenn.
He was born on September 18, 1930 in Hartville, Ohio to the late Roy Robert Wade and Mary Elizabeth White
Wade.
He attended Fulton First United Methodist Church and was a United States Air Force veteran where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the Korean Conflict. Cecil was a radar tech on the B-26 Bomber, and a classroom instructor at Keesler Air Force base. While serving in the Air Force he received a medal for inventing a classroom trouble shooting transmitter.
Cecil was the owner of Wade Television in Fulton for over 30 years. He was also an avid golfer and was a former President of Fulton Country Club. Cecil had a passion for flying Beechcraft Bonanza airplanes.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Meacham Wade, to whom he was married March 6, 1954, a son, Gordon Lee (Natasha) Wade of Martin, Tenn., a daughter, Lynn Wade (Greg) Battistelli of Germantown, Tenn., two grandchildren: Matthew Wade (Jordyn) Battistelli of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Garrett Lee (Elizabeth) Wade
of Dukedom, Tenn., three great-grandchildren, Lucas Battistelli of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Alayna Wade of Dukedom, Tenn. and Trenton Lee Wade of Dukedom, Tenn.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
