AREA OBITUARIES -- PATSY COLLIER BYNUM

Mrs. Patsy Collier Bynum, age 81, of South Fulton, Tenn. passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023, at her

residence.

She was born in Clinton, Ky. on March 6, 1942 to the late Chester Rufus Yates and Bessie Mai (Morrow) Yates.

Patsy lived all her life in this area and was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a seamstress for the former Henry I. Siegel in South Fulton, Tenn. and was a lifetime member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Union City,Tenn., Post 4862.

She is survived by her children: Jennifer Akers (Mike), of South Fulton, Tenn., Susan Collier (James) of Fulton, Ky., Steve Collier (Bonnie) of Fulton, Ky., and Keith Collier of Fulton, Ky., a sister Norma Yates Brubaker (James) of Wingo, Ky., grandchildren: Greg Swift of Fulton, Mark Collier of Fulton, Samantha Smith (Chris) of Union City, Tenn., Lane Akers (Stella) of Union City, Tenn., three stepdaughters, seven stepsons and seven great-granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband David Ray Collier, her second husband Charles "Bobby" Bynum, a brother Jimmy Eugene Yates, a sister Nina Catherine Yates Hastings, three grandchildren: Amanda Luck, Michael Swift and Michael Scott Collier.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Visitation was held at the

funeral home from 11 a.m. Tuesday until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations

be made to the VFW Women's Auxiliary of Union City, TN, Post 4862, 3915 N Clover Street. Union City, TN 38261, and also South Fulton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5258, South Fulton, Tenn. 38257.
