Arleigh Beryl Cox, age 88, of Hickman, Kentucky, passed away on

Monday, September 18, 2023 at the Optalis Nursing Home in Kingsford,

Michigan. He was born on October 9, 1934 in Cooley Valley, Wisconsin,

to Clarence Leslie and Mildred Irene Sidie Cox.

After serving in the Army at the end of the Korean Conflict,

Arleigh began working with Graphite Specialties in Niagara Falls, New

York. Then later transferred to start-up the Carborundum Plant in

Hickman and worked as a Production Superintendent for 37 years. He

enjoyed his work in manufacturing, always finding a way to make things

work more efficiently. In his later years of retirement, Arleigh enjoyed

living in Florida during the winter months helping others in his

community, and in the summer months at his cabin in Nancy, KY,

enjoying the beautiful Lake Cumberland boating and fishing. His

favorite pastime was sitting on his porch watching boats go by, feeding

his birds, and enjoying the wildlife in the area.

He is survived by his brother, Fantus, of Barneveld, Wisconsin; his

three daughters, Vanessa Lynn Partanen (Dave) of Bessemer, Michigan,

Cheryl Lynn Williams (Steve) of Hickman, Kentucky, and Gina Ann Cox

Riley of Dothan, Alabama; 8 grandchildren: Michael, Mary, Sarah,

Joseph, Adam, Leah, Blake, and Anna; 11 great-grandchildren: Michael

Jr., Gabriel, Aiden, Jasmine, Dartagnan, Raylan, Sean, Robert, Theodore,

Autumn, and Amelia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded

in death by his parents, his brothers Verlyn & Garian, and his sister

Cleone.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at

the Retreat Methodist Church in Retreat, Wisconsin, with Pastor Drew

Filkins officiating, along with his niece, Cindy Cox Reeson. Visitation

will be held prior to the service, and burial to follow in Walnut Mound

Cemetery where Arleigh’s parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents have been laid to rest
