AREA OBITUARIES -- BARBARA LAWSON

Mrs. Barbara Lawson, age 84, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Sept. 21, 2023 at her residence in South Fulton.

She was born in Fulton County, Ky., on April 10, 1939 to the late C.A. Turner and Mae Yates Turner.

She was a member of the Union Church and was a former Welcome Wagon Hostess. She was also a homemaker and lived all her life in this area.

Barbara is survived by her husband Tommy Lawson, to whom she was married in 1957, a daughter, Kym Coley of Martin, Tenn., a son, Tommy Lawson, Jr. of Fulton, Ky., five grandchildren: Ethan (Mary) Lawson of Union City, Tenn., Dakota (Danielle) Coley of Springville, Tenn., Landon (Carmen) Coley, and Sierra Coley both of Martin, Tenn., seven great-grandchildren: Ayden Bevis, Noah Bevis, Stevie Grace Lawson, Avery Lawson and John

Tyler Richards all of Union City, Tenn., Emma Gumm of Springville, Tenn. and Andi Grace Coley of Martin, Tenn., a brother James (Kathy) Turner of Fulton, Ky. and a sister, Scarlet Bennett of Fulton, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Tommy Bennett, a granddaughter Alexandrea Bevis and a son-in-law ,Craig Coley.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, in the funeral chapel of Hornbeak Funeral Home with burial to following in the Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
