AREA OBITUARIES – June Hicks

June Hicks, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Mon., Oct. 9, 2023 at the Jackson- Madison County Hospital.

She was born in Weakley County, Tenn, on June 11, 1931 to the late Kelly and Mary Harrington Jones.

June was a faithful member of the South Fulton Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher and VBS leader for many years, where she was known for her flannel graph stories. She was past president of the Christian Women’s Club, Homemakers Club, as well as many other areas in the church and community. She loved fishing, gardening, cooking and being a hostess to many Sunday School Parties. She will be missed by her family and friends who she dearly loved.

She is survived by a son R. David Hicks (Candy); a grandson, Christopher David Hicks; a step-son, Fred Robert Domont (Rosalie); a step-granddaughter, Eve Domont Carroll (Gregory); a step-granddaughter, Jenifer Domont; a sister, Jane Mayo Venice; a brother, Larry (Linda) Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert James (Jim) Hicks.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Mon., Oct. 16, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the South Fulton Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the South Fulton Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
