SFHS Red Devil Coach eyes appearance at Regional level

South Fulton High School’s Boys’ Basketball Coach Pete Angelos is in his eighth year at the helm of the Red Devils’ team and ushering in his 26th year coaching.

He and Assistant Coach Jason Rodehaver will have a roster for the 2023-2024 season which will include 10 returning players out of the 16 on the team.

With a 2022-2023 season record at 11-16, Coach Angelos wants to make sure this year’s Devils push to up the win column, not only for a winning regular season, but an appearance at the Regional level of competition.

As a team, the Head Coach sees the experience of his returning players, as well as the heightened degree of effort put forth from the team members, as definite strengths.

The challenge, thus far, he said, is three-point shooting.

Guards Brady McFarland, Conner O’Neal and Clark Rice will join forwards Dane Cirkles and Charles “Charlie Mike” Mulcahy at the starting positions, with another forward, Harrison Pierce, and center Sam Angelos first off the bench for the Red Devils.

Coach Angelos sees McFarland as a team leader, as well as the key player to score.

He tags Mulcahy for his rebounding skills and Cirkles as the team’s best finisher, as well as the best shot blocker.
