AREA OBITUARIES -- JOE E. SPEIGHT

Mr. Joe E. Speight, age 82, of South Fulton, Tenn. passed away Sat., Dec. 30, 2023 at the Baptist Memorial

Hospital in Union City, Tenn.

He was born on October 27, 1941 in Paris, Tenn. to the late John E. Speight and Margie Taylor Speight.

Joe was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church and had retired from the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber

Company where he worked in the maintenance department for 34 years.

He was a Mason in the Union City Lodge #538 for over 50 years.

He loved gardening, yard work, deer hunting, golfing and his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Speight, to whom he was married Aug. 4, 1961, a son Randall J. (Kelly) Speight of Evans, Ga., a daughter Kimberly Ann (David) McKinney of Macon, Ga., his grandchildren: Tanner Speight, Jessica (Cassidy) Usry and Emily Green all of Evans, Ga., Brandon, Tyler and Hunter McKinney all of Macon, Ga. and a sister, Ann Oliver of Paris, Tenn.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Don Speight.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, 2024 in the Hornbeak Funeral Home funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 4, 2024 with a Masonic service to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
