Discovery Park of America hosts celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 15, 2024

What: Discovery Park of America is hosting its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on Monday, Jan. 15. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day is observed annually on the third Monday in January. Children 17 and under and college students with their student ID will receive free admission.
When: Monday, January 15, 2024
11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Lane College Choir performance in Dino Hall
Other activities hosted by Discovery Park's education team which are inspired by the famous Martin Luther King Jr. quotes:
Guests will have the opportunity to paint “hope stones” which can be left in places in the community and meant to spread happiness and joy to those who encounter them.
Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to Reelfoot Rural Ministries.
Guests are invited to make cards of encouragement for guests of Magnolia Place Assisted Living, which provided children free admission to Discovery Park in the month of January.
Weakly County Reconciliation Project will hand out copies of “The Power of a Dream” to the first 100 visitors near the entrance to the Tennessee Room on the first floor of the museum.
