Gleason was on top 16-13 at the close of the first quarter against the Devils, and also at the end of the first half of play, the lead was all Gleason, 31- 21.
The second half, however, the Red Devils came alive on the court, outscoring the Bulldogs 14-8 in the third and 15-9 in the fourth. Gleason still had the lead at the end of the third quarter, 39-35. Time fell on the side of South Fulton, with a 2-point advantage stabilized at the final buzzer, 50-48..

SFHS 45, Dresden 39
On Feb. 1, the Red Devils allowed the Dresden Lions a first half lead, 29-16, but rearranged the course of the game in the second half, coming back with a 16 point run in the third, while holding the Lions to only 2 points, and upping the total by 13 points in the fourth to Dresden’s 8, for a 32-31 Red Devil lead at the end of the third quarter of play, and a 6-point final advantage, 45-39.
Brady McFarland recorded 24 points in the win over Dresden, making good on four baskets from three-point range, hitting six of seven free throw attempts and tossing in three 2-point goals.

SFHS 56, Greenfield 53
In what appeared to be a pattern for the SFHS Red Devils last week, the Feb. 2 contest against Greenfield’s Yellow Jackets proved to hold steady the process, with a first half slow start, followed by a second half acceleration and an ultimate win against the Jackets, 56-53.
Greenfield jumped ahead 12-10 in the first, and 26-18 at the halfway mark, but South Fulton countered with a 16-12 third quarter in their favor, and a 22- 15 final stretch. Greenfield closed the third quarter with a 38-34 lead, but the Devils used the all-important fourth quarter surge to secure the win, 56-53.
