AREA OBITUARIES – Van Ellingburg

Van Ellingburg, age 73, of Hickman, Ky. passed away Sun., March 17, 2024 at his residence.

He was born on March 11, 1951 in Obion County, Tenn. to the late Bill Davis Ellingburg and Wanda Sue King Ellingburg.

Van was a member of the East Hickman Baptist Church and was the owner of the former Hickman Motor Inc., in Hickman.

He was a member of the EZ Rodders Car Club, Hickman Boat Club and was on the Board of Directors at Citizens Bank. Van lived all of his life in this area.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Sharp Ellingburg, whom he married Dec. 23, 1970; a daughter, Vanessa (Daniel) Hill, of South Fulton, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Leigha Ellingburg, of Hickman; six grandchildren, Reagan, Emry and Kinley Ellingburg, all of Hickman, and Maleigh (Nathan) Roberson, Paylin and Cruz Hill, all of South Fulton; a brother, Kim (Jina) Ellingburg, of Biloxi, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brad Ellingburg, who passed away on Aug. 2, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Fri., March 22, 2024 at the West Hickman Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the West Hickman Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
