The United States Department of Agriculture, USDA, will facilitate a public informational meeting regarding affordable home repair loans, on Thurs., June 6, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Harvey Vick Community Room of the South Fulton Municipal Complex.Individuals and families who own and occupy their home, have a household income below $33,400 for one to four people, and have a credit history which demonstrates the ability and willingness to pay monthly debt, may attend this information meeting to explore options for loans to repair, improve or modernize homes or to remove health and safety hazards. Grants may also be an option, to use in removing health and safety hazards. Maximum loan is $40,000 at 1% fixed interest rate; and maximum grant is $10,000 for eligible applicants above the age of 62. Loans will be repaid over 20 years and grants must be repaid if property is sold in less than three years.
