AREA OBITUARIES – John Whitson "Whit" Linder

John Whitson "Whit" Linder, age 58, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., passed away Thurs., May 30, 2024 at the TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, in Smyrna, Tenn.

John was born on March 3, 1966, in Fayette, Co. Ky., to his mother Thelma Lee "Johnson" Linder, of Union City, Tenn., and his late father Charles Houston Linder.

He lived in Murfreesboro for the past 40 years and was a Computer Engineer with a Degree in Aerospace Engineering from MTSU.

He is also survived by his brother, Charles Johnson (Lora) Linder, of Hickman, Ky.; two nephews, Samuel (Brittany) Linder and Patrick (Tayler) Linder, of Hickman; two great nieces, Lily and Molly, of Hickman; an uncle, Richard Gouger, of Hickman; and several cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Shirley Gouger.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
