AREA OBITUARIES -- EUGENIA B. WHITESELL

Eugenia "Genie" B. Whitesell, age 88, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Thurs., June 26, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on March 11, 1936 in Bowling Green, Ky. to the late Henry H. Baird and Nell Bate Baird.

Genie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton. She was a violinist and a longtime member of the Jacob Flournoy Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution.

She is survived by two sons, Hunter B. (Juliana Jill) Whitesell II, of the Beerlerton Communtity, and John Bell (Jacqueline) Whitesell, of Union City, Tenn.; a daughter, Eugenie B. Whitesell, of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Benjamin Hunter (Nicole) Whitesell, of Fulton, Ky., Katherine Elizabeth (Arthur) Boston, of Murray, Ky., and Jack Hunter Whitesell and Jesse Walker Whitesell, both of Union City, Tenn.; nine great-grandchildren: Lillian, Benjamin II, Amelia, Peter, and Mary Whitesell, all of Fulton, Ky., and Henry, George, Annabel, and Tom Boston, all of Murray, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Byrd Whitesell; and a brother, Thomas H. Baird, MD.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Sat., June 29, 2024, in the Palestine Cemetery. There will be no visitation held at the funeral home and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.
