AREA OBITUARIES -- ROYCE OLIVER

Mr. Royce Oliver, age 79, of Fulton, Ky,, and formerly of Wingo, Ky., passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Ky.

He was born on July 8, 1945 in Wingo, Ky. to the late Wayne Thomas Oliver and Sarah Elizabeth Oliver.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, Ky.

Mr. Oliver served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.

He worked for General Tire as a Machine Operator for 40 years, and has been in this community most of his life. He served on the Habitat for Humanity Team, and the KenTenn Food Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Lee Allen Oliver, of Fulton, Ky.; a daughter, Susan (Robert) Rushing, of Fulton, Ky.; a granddaughter, Caroline (Elijah) Wiggins, of Kansas City, Mo., and two great-granddaughters, Charisma and Aliya. He is also survived by five sisters, Barbara Rea, of Martin, Tenn., Loretta Kennemore, of Mayfield, Ky., Glenda Armstrong, of Murray, Ky., a twin sister, Joyce Cash, of Mayfield, Ky., Lucy Turner, of Mayfield, Ky., and two brothers: Keith (Joann) Oliver, of Mayfield, Ky., and Jeff Oliver, of Cuba, Ky.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by two brothers, John Oliver and Dwayne Oliver.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Fulton, Ky. with burial to follow in the Palestine Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church from 1:30 PM until the hour of service.
