AREA OBITUARIES -- GUINELL GARDNER

Mrs. Guinell Gardner, age 93, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Sun., Aug. 4, 2024 at The Waters of Union City.

She was born on Sept. 19, 1930 in Fulton County, Ky. to the late Guy Heithcock and Ila Ferguson Heithcock.

Guinell was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 41 year. She also retired from Walmart as a sales clerk.

She is survived by two step-children, Dr. Joe Gardner, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Marla Edwards, of Martin, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Lisa (Stephen) Malone, of Knoxville, Tenn., Libby McKnight, of Dresden, Tenn., Peter Toon, of Paducah, Ky., and Emily Stevens, of South Fulton, Tenn.; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Gardner; two daughters, Betty Moss and Joyce Toon; a step-daughter, Marinan Barner; a granddaughter, Merideth O’Neill; a brother, Boyce Heithcock; and a sister, Jane Copeland.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., Aug. 9, 2024 in the Hornbeak Funeral Home funeral chapel with burial to follow in the Greenlea Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of service
