Local businesses’ partnership results in Miss USA winners
This year’s Miss USA pageant featured both overall evening gown award winning contestants’ selections from Joanns in South Fulton, under the expertise and craftsmanship of Paige Burcham Dennis, owner, as well as internationally known fashion designer, Sherri Hill.
Contributing to the historic moment, is the partnership which Joanns has formed with former Miami-based designer Fernando Wong, who recently relocated his manufacturing facility to Fulton.
Wong’s designs played a pivotal role in the competition with Miss USA and Miss Teen USA winners wearing custom interview competition attire crafted in Fulton.
Miss Tennessee USA Christell Foote of Nashville, Tenn. and Miss Tennessee Teen USA Townsend Blackwell of Lakeland, both made their choices of pageant attire in the Twin Cities of Fulton and South Fulton.
“This remarkable milestone underscores the hard work and determination of the Twin Cities, and the partnership between Joanns, Sherri Hill and Fernando Wong,” Burcham said.
“The synergy between local talent and world renowned designers has positioned South Fulton, Tenn. and Fulton, Ky. as a new epicenter for fashion in the pageant world. Hollywood and the pageant industry now look to the Twin Cities as a crucial stop for elite fashion,” Burcham added.
