Pilots, Devils’ matchup ends in SFHS win

South Fulton High School Red Devils held the Fulton County High School Pilots to one touchdown in the fourth quarter of play at the Pilots’ Sanger Field in Hickman Aug. 30, while scoring 20 points in the first quarter, 21 in the second and 6 in the fourth, to take the win, 47-6.
Red Devil Brady McFarland struck first for South Fulton in the first quarter, connecting on a 36 yard pass to Connor O’Neal for the TD, and Charles Michael Mulcahy kicking the extra point for a 7-0 lead.
South Fulton’s Dallas Whitehead then found the end zone from 2 yards out, and Mulcahy’s extra point was good, upping the advantage to 14-0 in the Devils’ favor.
The third score in the first quarter for the Devils came by way of McFarland holding on to the ball for a six yard run, but this time, Mulcahy’s kick was no good. The Devils maintained a solid 20-0 lead.
In the second quarter, McFarland threw a 41 yard pass to team mate Josh McKnight for the score, and Mulcahy redeemed himself with a successful kick, and a 27-0 SF advantage.
The Devils scored two more times before the end of the first half, both with McFarland putting 6 up with a run, once from 8 yards and once from 2 yards out. Both times, Mulcahy obliged with the successful extra point and the score was 41-0 at the half way mark.
Both teams were held scoreless in the third round.
Fulton County Pilot Kalon McCauley put the hosts on the scoreboard with a 27 yard run in the fourth, but the two point conversion failed for the Pilots. 
South Fulton finished off the night with a Trevor Stunson  run in for 16 yards, but the extra point attempt by Preet Chaudhari was blocked.
In rushing on the night, South Fulton’s Whitehead carried 10 times for 60 yards, Jonathan Doss, one time for 6, McFarland, 4 times for 16 and Josh McKnight, twice for 21 yards.
Red Devils Gavin Lovell had 3 yards in 3 carries, Alijah, two carries for 33 yards, Trevor Stunson, 3 carries for 37 yards and Quadyn Morefield, three carries for 7 yards.
For the Pilots, Davarius Freeman rushed for 5 yards in six carries, Preston Smith rushed for 2 yards on 7 carries, and Kalon McCauley, 6 carries for 66 yards.
In receptions, Pilot Kalon McCauley had two catches for 6 yards.
South Fulton’s McKnight, had 3 receptions for 72 yards, Connor O’Neal, 2 for 69 yards, Braden Gore, 1 reception for 31 yards, Doss, one for 21, Alijah Ingram, one for 12 yards and Mason Parrish, two for 11.
South Fulton QB Brady McFarland had 193 yards in passing, and Grant Joyner, 23.
Fulton County’s Preston Smith passed for 8 yards.
Red Devil defense saw 4 tackles from Doss, 3.5 from McKnight, 3 a piece from Harley Nagel, Tim Davis, Stunson and Gavin Lovell, 2.5 from Austin Bradley; 2 each from Conner Lawrence, Alijah Ingram, Quadyn Morefield and Andrew Bradley; and one a piece from Dylan Bynum, Anthony Ross, Connor O’Neal, Joseph Mathias, Carson Choate, and Grant Joyner.
McKnight had 3.5 tackles for losses for the Red Devils, Davis had 3, Lovell, 2.5, and Nagel, Morefield, Mathias, Doss and Dylan Bynum 1 tackle a piece resulting in a loss.
Sacks were credited to Davis and Lovell, each with 1.5, 1 from McKnight and Austin Bradley, and .5 from Dylan Bynum, Quadyn Morefield and Alijah Ingram.
Forced fumbles were banked by Carson Choate and Trevor Stunson; O’Neal and Jaxon Williams each had a fumble recovery, Whitehead had a punt block and Choate, a pass deflection.
Ryan Prehoda led the Pilots with 9 tackles, including two for losses, followed by Jackson Major and Zyian Frame with six each, Hunter Stonecipher with five, Marcus Bonds and Wesley Goodman with four each, McCauley, James Parker, EDrece Bonds, David ALlison and Zayden Kinney with three tackles, William Jackson, Cooper Drake Thorpe, Brayden Eakes, ShaMarian Gray and Chrisstjeane Gordon with two each, and Preston Smith with one tackle.
David Allison forced and recovered one fumble.
Fulton County recorded 67 offensive yards, and South Fulton, 390 on the night. 
The Pilots had 5 first downs and 2 penalties for 15 yards, while the Devils had 16 first downs and 8 penalties for 85 yards.
