AREA OBITUARIES, MARIE LYNN MENEES
Marie Lynn Menees, age 94, of Fulton, Ky., passed away Mon., Sept. 16, 2024 at her residence.
She was born on March 8, 1930 in Rives, Tenn., to the late Euell and Margaret Carter Lynn.
Mrs. Menees was a member of the Smith Street Church of Christ. She was a former secretary and bookkeeper for Fulton County Sheriff 1966-1970, County Judge 1970-1978 and Judge Executive from 1978-1982.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Don) Dennis, of Beaverton, Ore.; a son, James Keith Menees, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Kelly (Kevin) May Eugene, of Oregon, Lauren (Ryan) Boyens, of Nolensville, Tenn., Julianne (Loren) Shelly, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Danielle Dennis, of Monmonth, Ore., and Jay (Kelly) Menees, of Gainesville, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Peyton Shelly and Sloane Shelly, both of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Charlie Boyens,Bennett Boyens and Sarah Boyens, all of Nolensville, Tenn., Tyler Shelly, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Carter Menees, of Gainesville, Fla..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. “Buck” Menees; a granddaughter, Sarah Menees; and a daughter-in-law, Lori Menees.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Sat., Sept. 21, 2024 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in the Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, Fla., 33607.
