AREA OBITUARIES -- TOMMIE AUSTIN JONES

Mr. Thomas "Tommie" Austin Jones, age 90, of the Cayce community passed away Thursday at his residence.
Tommie was born in Fulton, County, KY to the late Sam Austin Jones and Virginia McMurray Jones on August 6, 1934.
He was a lifetime member of the Cayce Methodist Churchand a retired farmer, he recently received the Outstanding Legacy Farm Award from the Fulton County Farm Bureau and the Soil and Conservationist Award. He was on the
Fulton County Board of Education for 20 years, the Cayce Volunteer Fire Department and the building committee of the Cayce Methodist Church.
Tommie is survived by his children, Dennis Wayne Jones of Cayce, KY, Virginia Lynn (Thomas) Hofrichter ofNaperville, IL, four grandchildren: Jeremy (Naomi) Jones, of Cayce, KY, Jenny Jones of Martin, TN, Jacob (Christina) Jones of Cayce, KY and Mark Thomas Stephenson of Riverside, IL. Five great-grandchildren: Aiyana Jones and M. J. Pierce both of Martin, TN, Lexie Eakes and Presley Eakes, both of Cadiz, KY and Thomas Waylon Brunswick of Cayce, KY, three sisters: Dorothy Harrison of Fulton, KY, Margaret Harrington of Union City, TN and Patricia Ashe of Kenton, TN.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Marie (Atwill) Jones and one brother, Charles Henry Jones.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM, Sunday, Sept. 22 at the Cayce Methodist Church in Cayce, KY, where he was to lie in state from 1 PM until the hour of service. There was a visitation from 5-8 Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton.
Pallbearers were Waylon Burnswick, Charlie Butler, Duane Brasfield,Mark Thomas Stephenson, Jeremy Jones and Jacob Jones and Honorary Pallbearers: Eddie Williamson, Ted Hopkins, Bobby Harrison, Glenn Nolan Howell, Jerry Graham, Joe Forest Campbell and Terry Atwill.
