Owners’ love of business keeps The Keg thriving

The Keg Bar & Grill, a mainstay in downtown Fulton since 1939, was purchased by Hoyt Moore, Mike Gossum and Pat Gossum, Fulton natives, 11 years ago.

The Keg is located at 442 Lake St., and hours of operation are Tuesdays-Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The telephone number is  270-472-6101  and The Keg's email is kegfulton@gmail.com.

The trio did not have to make any major decision regarding where to locate, as The Keg has anchored their end of Lake Street for over 83 years.

The three owners reside in Fulton/South Fulton, the Twin Cities.
Approximately 30 people are employed at the business currently.
One interesting thing many may not know about The Keg, is that when the building currently occupied was built, it actually served as a livery stable.

As is the case with most small businesses, there are highs and lows to its operation.
What has become the hardest, according to the owners, is being able to hire and maintain a full staff.
The easiest thing about small business operations?
"There is really nothing easy about running a restaurant.  You just need to have a love for it to make it work, and that's what has been done," Mike Gossum said.
