NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, PADUCAH, RELEASES FORECAST FOR WEEK
January 07, 2025
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE, PADUCAH, UPDATE
Good afternoon,
Even colder air is headed this way tonight. Wind chills will drop to around 0 to 10 degrees above zero. Temperatures are not forecast to rise above freezing until Thursday and no location in our region will likely move above 36 or so through Tuesday.
There is a good chance for accumulating snow everywhere Friday. The snow will start before or around dawn Friday and persist through the evening. Better than 50-60 percent chance of an inch or more everywhere. The rough forecast for now is 1-3 inches along and north of a Poplar Bluff to Owensboro line and more like 2-4" along and south of that line. The cold temperatures should result in pretty much every flake sticking to untreated surfaces. Amounts will likely fluctuate as we get closer and start to see more details in the approaching system and have trended upward from 24 hours ago.
