Wild Goose Catering, Event Center Grand Opening Feb. 1
Wild Goose Catering and Event Center is a recent addition to the area business community, located at 7926 State Rt. 166 E, known as “Middle Road”, Fulton.
The venue will accommodate 220 people, and it is owned by Jamie Faulkner, Executive Chef and his wife, Kerrie, David and Jennifer Lusk.
Faulkner, who grew up in the Twin Cities, graduated from Fulton High School in 1992, and served for 14 years in the United States Air Force. He lived and served in the Air Force as a firefighter, and lived in Montana, Alaska, Colorado, and other locations around the world, before finding himself living in Colorado, and taking on a second career as an Executive Chef, a role he has accomplished and mastered for the past 16+ years.
Faulkner honed his culinary skills by going to college and studying Master Baking and Pastry, as well as Culinary Arts, before going to work for a well-known 4-Star hotel chain.
He also owned and operated his own food truck, and would often make trips back to his home town to purchase wood for barbecuing.
With the high taxes and cost of living experienced in Colorado, at the age of 51, his plans were to semi-retire, so he moved back to Fulton, and purchased a home on Middle Road, just under a year and a half ago.
He began to clean up and renovate his newly purchased property, and after seeing a need for an event venue which could accommodate large groups, and activities, Faulkner said he couldn’t sleep one night, and began to visualize constructing a building on his property which would meet that community need, as well as allow him the opportunity to use his trade and skills in the kitchen for catering.
Concrete was poured for the venue’s foundation in March of 2024.
While the process has included many challenges, the expansive facility is now ready for business, complete with both a “bride’s room” and “groom’s room”, plenty of tables and chairs, a full sized state-of-the-art kitchen, outdoor featured areas such as a gazebo and a soon-to-be-constructed waterfall cascading into the pond on site.
Weddings, family reunions, banquets, showers or holiday gatherings can be arranged, along with catering services for small groups up to large gatherings.
Wild Goose Catering is able to provide delicious specialty meals, as well as plates starting at $18, which would include a meat, two sides and drink.
Faulkner will also bring his delicacies to homes or other sites, as long as he is able to have kitchen facilities provided.
Plans are in the works for “pop-up” dinners which will require pre-purchased, limited space tickets.
On Feb. 1, Wild Goose Catering and Event Center will host a Grand Opening, open to the public, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Those who attend will have the opportunity to be eligible for a give-away which will include the Wild Goose Valentines Couple’s Dinner scheduled for Feb. 15.
