AREA OBITUARIES -- MICKIE FREEMAN

Mickie Freeman, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away Wed., Feb. 5, 2025, at the Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, Tenn.
Mickie was born in Wickliffe, Ky. on Oct. 21, 1933, to the late Willis Freeman and Lee Odell Mills Freeman. He served in the United States Army. He worked as a tire builder and forklift driver for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Jackson, Mich. then moved to the Union City, Tenn. plant. He was a former bus driver and janitor for the East Jackson Middle School for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Lapitz Freeman; six children, Tim (Geri) Freeman, of Concorde, Mich., Sherrie (Duane) Harrington, of Walker, Minn., Kyna Stewart, of Michigan Center, Mich., Greg (Amber) Freeman, of Muskegon, Mich., Rick (Gayle) Freeman, of Fruitport, Mich., and Tom (Angela) Rezab, of Muskegon, Mich.; 19 grandchildren, Rhea Freeman, Erin (Andrew) Reinker, Hunter (Lauren) Freeman, Emma (Noah) Minghine, Jack (Kelli) Freeman, Eric (Danica) Harrington, Adam Harrington, Sean (Nicole) Harrington, Kristen Spencer, Kyle (Meggan) Stewart, Karie Jones, Kory (Jamie) Stewart, Jared (Jessica) Freeman, Ryan Freeman, Sydney (Caynan) Freeman, Bradley (Haley) Freeman, Holly (Eric) Freeman, Kaydence Blunt-Rezab, Chase Rezab; 22 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce Hansen, of Jackson, Mich., Danna Beaman, of Benton, Ky., Brenda (George) Adams, of Barlow, Ky., and Thercia McVay, of Benton, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Naomi (Toni) Freeman; and one brother, Ronnie Freeman.
Funeral services will be held at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton on Thurs., Feb. 13, 2025 at 1 p.m.. Burial to follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the hour of service.
Hornbeak Funeral Chapel of Fulton is in charge of arrangements.
