Good morning,
Very busy forecast this weekend into next week.

1. The Flood Watch remains for the southeastern 2/3rds of the Quad State until 6am Sunday. A broad area of 2.5 to 5 inches of rain is forecast with a corridor of 5 to 8 inches possible in Western Kentucky. Significant to possibly major flash flooding is expected today into Sunday morning. Much of Western Kentucky is in a very rare Weather Prediction Center high risk Excessive Rainfall Outlook area.

2. A few strong to severe storms are possible in the Missouri Bootheel and across Western Kentucky (mainly southern portions) late this afternoon through the evening hours.
3. Rain may change over to snow late tonight into Sunday morning, accumulations of snow are likely pretty limited, and we aren't going to be especially cold tonight, but some slick spots on bridges are possible.

4. A rapid rise on the Little River near Hopkinsville is forecast this evening. River flooding will increase on the Green and Ohio Rivers for the week ahead.

5. Dangerously cold temperatures arrive next week and remain for multiple days. Models are trending higher for snowfall potential Tuesday into early Wednesday with 2+ inch probabilities (55-80%) similar to the 1+ inch probabilities from the previous model cycle. Any snow cover would bolster the cold weather potential.
