AREA OBITUARIES -- PAUL BLAYLOCK

Mr. Paul Blaylock, age 102, passed away on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025, under a full moon at his residence in South Fulton, Tenn. Paul was born in Gibson County, Tenn., to the late James and Ruth Longworth Blaylock on October 31, 1922.
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Fulton, where he had served as a Deacon. A former employee of the former Henry I Siegel Clothing Company in Fulton-South Fulton for 29 years, he then worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, where he retired in 1987. Paul also served the City of South Fulton as Mayor and held the honor of being the oldest person to hold that position in the State of Tennessee. He was a member of Roberts Masonic Lodge #172 in Fulton.
A Veteran of the United States Army, Paul is the oldest World War II D-Day Normandy survivor in the State of Tennessee. He was also a recipient of the Bronze Star and American Theatre Ribbon for his service to our country.
Paul leaves one son, Paul (P.D.) Blaylock, MD of Portland, Oregon.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lena Ruth Blankenship Blaylock (11-14-90), a brother, James Blaylock, and a sister, Mary Blaylock Campbell.
A memorial for Mr. Paul Blaylock will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. The service will be led by his son, Dr. Paul Blaylock, MD, assisted by Rev. Stephen Cavness and Bro. Paul Adams. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. on Wednesday until 1:30 p.m.. A Masonic Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel prior to Memorial at 2 p.m..
Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens, where Military Rites will be conducted.
Pallbearers will be: Bobby Blaylock, Sr., Bobby Blaylock, Jr., Donnie Green, David Brann, Ted Barclay, and Sam Hancock.
