AREA OBITUARIES – Donnie Tibbs Jr.

Donnie Tibbs Jr., age 55, of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away on Mon., April 21, 2025, at the Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tenn. Donnie was born in Fulton, Ky., on Dec. 20, 1969, to the late Donnie Tibbs Sr. and Ms. Judy Sparks Whitener, of South Fulton.

Donnie was a retired truck driver and farmer and was loved by many friends and family. Donnie had a passion for relic hunting. You could often find him hunting for arrowheads and anything Civil War. However, his greatest passion was cheering on his beloved Pittsburg Steelers. Through the good years and bad, he could always be found in front of the TV rooting for the Steelers.

Donnie Tibbs Jr. is survived by his mother, Judy; four children, Heather (Joshua) Crider, of Clinton, Ky., Kelli Williams, of Fulton, Ky., Austin (Haley) Tibbs, of Sharon, Tenn., and Matthew Robertson, of South Fulton, Tenn.; one stepdaughter, Autumn (Cameron) Elam, of Murray, Ky.; five grandchildren, Krislynn Vaughan, Abbigale Crider, Patelynn Williams, Aleigha Crider and Braelynn Williams; a step-granddaughter, Kinsley Keen; one step-grandson, Zavn Elam; one sister, Michelle (Leland) Thomas, of Wingo, Ky.; one stepbrother, John Hill, of Wichita, Kan.; four aunts, Margie Joyce Christman, of Ohio, Jennie Kay (Chris) Fowler, of Mayfield, Ky., Brenda (Robert) Martin, of Taylorsville, Ky., and Betty (Larry) Middleton, of Lakeland, Fla.; two uncles, Douglas Tibbs Jr. (Linda), of Fulton, Ky., and Larry Sparks, of Clarksville, Tenn.; and several cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Louie Douglas Tibbs Sr. (Juanita Fern) and his maternal grandparents, James Earl (Ruby Nell) Sparks; step-grandfather; Pete Laird; and one uncle, Ronnie Tibbs.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Fri. April 25, 2025 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, Ky. with Bro. Chris Fowler officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until the hour of service.
