AREA OBITUARIES -- PAT COLLINS

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, yet with gratitude we announce the passing of Patricia Lou (Pat) Blalock Collins who peacefully departed this life on May 25, 2025 at the age of 79.

Patricia was born on June 20, 1945, in Fulton, Ky. She grew up in the Beelerton community of southern Hickman County where she still resided at the time of her death. Patricia spent most of her career, 37 years, in the nursing field at the former Fulton Hospital, the former Parkway Regional Hospital and the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, Tenn. where she spent countless days and nights tending to those with the most desperate needs. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a tireless supporter of her community. She was a member of the (SOS) Smiles on Seniors. In honor of her service as a LPN nurse, a ceremony prior to the funeral will be held by the Western Kentucky Nurses Honor Guard.

Pat began her wonderful journey of motherhood in 1963 with two boys four years apart. In 1985, Pat married her husband, David Collins, and together they supported and loved five children. Their years were spent with loving devotion to each other and much hard work. She loved traveling, baking, attending to the needs of others, sending cards, scripture and book reading, gardening, raising German Shepherds and attending the many events of her grandchildren. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she loved everyone she met. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, dedication to her family, hospitality, and the love she shared to others.

She is survived by her husband David Collins; her children Tony (Jodie) Blalock, Timmy (Jennifer) Blalock, Tracy (Jeff) Bennett, Teresa Decker, and Andy (Susanne) Collins; her grandchildren Eric (Jenah) Blalock, Jessica (Nick) Lathrop, Amanda (Quinn) Mosley, Nathan (Bailey) Blalock, Josh (Rachael) Bennett, Ginna Bennett, Tyler (Ashley) Decker, Rachel Decker, Cameron Collins, and Anne Claire Collins; 12 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Brenda Beard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold (Buck) and Mary Lou Jackson Beard, former husband, Edward Blalock, and one brother Joe Beard.

“Granny” Pat was the matriarch of our family who held generations together. As wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her wisdom, love, guidance, kindness, faith, prayers, comfort and support leave a deep, irreplaceable void.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Pat Collins will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Bro. Eric Blalock, Bro. Tony Blalock and Bro. Stephen Webb will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Pat Collins will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Tuesday, May 27 in the Funeral Chapel and after 8:00am Wednesday until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be; Nathan Blalock, Josh Bennett, Quinn Mosley, Tyler Decker, Cameron Collins, Eric Blalock and Nick Lathrop.
