AREA OBITUARIES – Jerry Cox

Jerry Cox, age 84, of Fulton, Ky., passed away Sun., Aug. 3, 2025 at The Etheridge House in Union City, Tenn.
He was born on Oct. 30, 1940 in Earle, Ark., to the late Oscar Benton “O.B.” Cox and Jimmie Francis Magness Cox.
He was a member of the South Fulton Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran. He retired after 30 years of service from the former Ferry-Morse Seed Company in Fulton, Ky., where he was the Vice-President of Finance. 
He was also a long time member of the Fulton County Club where he enjoyed his frequent games of golf. He had a special love for his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hannah and Ryan.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Thompson Cox, to whom he married Oct. 4, 1962; a daughter, Paula (Troy) Hurdle, of Oxford, Miss.; a son, Jeff (Michelle) Cox, of Collierville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Hurdle-Mills (Andrew), of Shepherdsville, Ky., and Hannah Hurdle and Ryan Cox, both of Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Miller.
Private graveside services will be held for Mr. Jerry Cox. A visitation will be held at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wed., Aug. 6, 2025.
