AREA OBTUARIES – Janette (Farmer) Giles

Janette (Farmer) Giles, age 97, of Murray, Ky,, passed away on Thurs., April 2, 2026, at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray.
She was born on May 9, 1928, to the late John Farmer and Carter Lee (Whitnel) Farmer. She worked as an artist and craftswoman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burie H. Giles; and by one son, Lee Giles.
She is survived by one daughter, Jenny Wood; her husband, Jackie, of Almo, Ky.; six grandchildren, Michael Wood, Amy Saalwaechter, LeeAnn Giles, John Giles, Elvin Giles, and Elissa Giles; as well as 21 great-grandchildren.
A memorial graveside will be held on Tues., April 7, 2026, at 12 p.m. (noon) in the chapel at Murray Memorial Gardens, with Te’Heshia Richardson officiating. Burial will follow.
