AREA OBITUARIES – Nina Harris

Nina June Elliott Harris, 86, of Germantown, Tenn., died peacefully on May 19, 2026. Born in South Fulton, Tenn., on June 13, 1939, Nina was the daughter of the late Bob Elliott and Robbie Watts Elliott. She was a graduate of South Fulton High School, where she met her late husband of 68 years, Max Harris.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Harris Haney, and her husband, Philip Haney, of Cordova, Tenn., and Lynn Harris Hill, and her husband, Garner Hil,l of Bluffton, S.C.; five grandchildren, Jared Haney, and his wife, Ryan Haney, Kristen Haney Dawson and her husband, Jon Dawson, Jordan Hill Bouldin, and her husband Chance Bouldin, Tyler Hill and Jackson Hill. 
She was also the proud great-grandmother to Reese and Carter Haney, George and soon-to-come baby girl Dawson, and Campbell and Garner Bouldin. Additionally, she had three brothers, Larry Elliott, of Union City, Tenn., Harry Elliott, of Dyer, Tenn., and Jerry Elliott, of South Fulton, Tenn., and one sister, Joyce Johns, of South Fulton, Tenn.
Nina and Max moved to Memphis in 1957, where they lived and raised their daughters. Nina worked for Diesel Recon, where she was a Project Manager. Nina loved to read, play Bunco with her friends, and to watch Kentucky Basketball. Nina died just as she lived her life, peacefully and gracefully. Nina was a member of Raleigh Church of Christ and later Germantown Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Mon., June 8, 2026, at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Visitations will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
