SFMS rolls to 34-0 victory, improves to 5-0

South Fulton continued its perfect start to the season Mon., Sept. 14, shutting out Henry County 34-0 behind a strong rushing attack and a stingy defensive effort.
Kade Clanton got South Fulton on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a two-yard touchdown run. The Red Devils were unable to convert the ensuing two-point attempt, but led 6-0.
Holden Crabtree took over in the second quarter, scoring twice on touchdown runs of nine yards and four yards. Both two-point attempts were unsuccessful, giving South Fulton an 18-0 advantage at halftime.
Crabtree added his third rushing touchdown of the night in the third quarter, breaking loose for a 19-yard score. Gavin Goldbeck ran in the two-point conversion to push the Red Devils’ lead to 26-0.
South Fulton capped the scoring in the fourth quarter when Clanton scored on a four-yard run. Crabtree added the two-point conversion, making the final 34-0.
Goldbeck led the Red Devils on the ground with 111 yards on nine carries. Crabtree added 84 yards on eight carries and three touchdowns, while Clanton rushed eight times for 44 yards and two scores. Abe Morris contributed 10 yards on four carries.
Crabtree also completed 2 of 3 passes for 13 yards. Jase Long had one reception for 4 yards, while Clanton caught one pass for 9 yards.
Defensively, Silas Williams and Clanton recorded four tackles apiece, while Evan Mohr added three tackles. Clanton also recovered a fumble.
With the victory, South Fulton remains unbeaten at 5-0 and will return to action Thurs., Sept. 17 as they travel to take on the Fulton County Middle School Pilots. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
