SFHS BASEBALL FIELD NAMED FOR PAST, PRESENT COACHES

March 18, 2021

Following a brief special called session of the Obion County School Board March 16, in which the action was made official, South Fulton High School Baseball Coach Jeremy McFarland and former Coach Gwin Wood will have the team's field named in their honor, Wood-McFarland Field.

South Fulton's longtime announcer Teddy Barclay presented a history surrounding the careers of each coach and educator, prior to the Red Devils' contest against Obion County Central, recounting their years of dedication and service to the school system and the athletic programs at South Fulton Middle and High School.

South Fulton Booster Club President and Obion County School Board member Tim Britt, along with SFMS/HS Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Keith Frazier made the presentation mid-field to the pair, with signage to be placed in the near future, designating the field's new name.
