AREA OBITUARIES – RAY STANISZEWSKI

Raymond “Radio Ray” Staniszewski, age 90, of South Fulton, died Aug. 15 in Martin, Tenn.

He was born on July 17, 1931 in Michigan City, Ind. to the late Louis and Harriet Nawrocki Staniszewski.

He was a member of the St Jude Catholic Church, in Martin, and was a United States Army veteran, where he served in the Korean Conflict. He worked for Chrysler Corporation in Michigan for 30 years, then moved to this area in June of 1980 and worked as the Radio Personality with the former WKZT Radio in Fulton for 17 years. He was also an Auctioneer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hawkins Staniszewski, whom he married Aug. 25, 1962; three sons, Ray Staniszewski, Jr. (Audrey), of Denton, Texas, Daniel Staniszewski, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and David Staniszewski, of Navarre, Fla.; three grandchildren, Erin Staniszewski, Kristin Johnson (Kendrick) and Emily Staniszewski, all of Denton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Staniszewski.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 21 at Hornbeak Funeral Home, in Fulton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Leachville Cemetery in Leachville, Ark. with military honors.
