AREA OBITUARIES – EDDIE PENNELL

Jewell Edward “Eddie” Pennell, age 82, of South Fulton, passed away Sept.17, 2021 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.

He was born on Aug. 21, 1939 in San Joaquin County, CA to the late Alcie Pennell and Myrtle Louise Carter Pennell Reilly.

He e was a member of the Moscow Baptist Church and was a United States Army veteran where he served in Korea. He was also a member of the National Guard for 33 years. He worked at the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City, Tenn. as a tuber operator. He was an avid golfer and a member of the breakfast buddies.

He is survived by his wife, Pattie Sue Pillow Hicks Pennell, whom he was married to for 49 years; his children, Mark Edward Pennell, of Santa Fe, N.M., Linda Hicks Taylor, of South Fulton, and Michael (Jamie) Hicks, of South Fulton; his grandchildren, Bridgette Taylor (Jeremy) Grogan, of Murray, Chad (Shannon) Taylor, of Fulton, Justin (Madison) Taylor, of Water Valley, Adam (Samantha) Hicks, of Dubuque, Iowa, Conner (Cassidy) Hicks, of Benton, Kirsten West, of San Antonio, Texas and Bryce Pennell, of San Antonio; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Pennell, of Fulton, Mike Reilly, of Moscow, and Mickey Reilly, of Fulton; two sisters, Billie Jo Pennell, of Stockton, Calif., and JoAnn Hernandez, of Stockton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Madding and a brother Tony Reilly.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 23 in the Oakwood Cemetery.
