Nick Rice, age 40 and a life long resident of South Fulton, passed away Oct. 31 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. from injuries sustained in an accident in Obion County, Tenn.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1981 in Fulton, to Glynn Bert Rice (G.B), Jr. and Kathy Jo Whitlock Rice of South Fulton.

A member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fulton, he was currently employed at JMS Russell Metals in Jackson, Tenn., as a Production Lead.

He was a board member of Odyssey Soccer Club in Martin, Tenn., and was active in the Twin Cities Youth Baseball program in Fulton.

He had designed and made unique trophies for the Fulton Rotary Car Show held each year during the Banana Festival.

A member of the Pro Mod Drag Racing Team, he had also been a member of a bowling league at the former Jet Lanes Bowling Ally in Fulton.

A car enthusiast, outdoorsman, avid golfer and fisherman, he loved trivia in the music and sports categories.

First and foremost, was his family as he was a loving husband and father to his wife and sons.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife to whom he was married Oct. 18, 2003, Virginia Bard Rice and their children, Clark DeMyer Rice and Nolan Carter Rice, all of South Fulton; a sister, Amelia (Patrick) Courtney, of Pennington, N.J.; and his mother and father-in-law, Ginger and Bill Bard of Fulton.

Private family services will be held.

To honor the life of Nick Rice, a celebration will be held Sat., Nov. 6 at the The Meadows, 101 Commercial Ave., Fulton, Ky. 42041 from 5 - 8 p.m.
