FCHS graduate, Officer named Veterans’ Day keynote speaker

Chief Warrant Officer Three (Promotable) Sharron McClerkin, US Army, 920B, will be the keynote speaker at Fulton County Schools Veterans Day program Nov. 11, at 9:30 a.m., at the Fulton County High School (FCHS) gymnasium.

McClerkin is a 2000 graduate of Fulton County Schools and currently serves as the Presidential Communications Officer to the 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden.

Born in Union City, Tenn., and raised in Hickman, he received his commission as a Warrant Officer One from the Warrant Officer Candidate School and was assigned to Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash., in March 2010.

For the past 21 years, he has served in a variety of operational and joint staff assignments and completed a tour in Afghanistan. He currently serves as Presidential Communications Officer to 46th POTUS (White House Communications Agency). His long-term career goal is to be selected as the Quartermaster Regimental Command Chief Warrant Officer.

McClerkin’s education includes a Bachelors of Arts, Supply Chain Management, University of Arizona Global Campus (“Bear Down”); Associates of General Studies Degree, Barton County Community College, Greta Bend, Kan.; graduate of Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education; graduate of Warrant Officer Advance course; graduate of Warrant Officer Basic course; graduate of Department of Defense (DoD) Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management; graduate of Performance Based Logistics (PBL); graduate of Joint Logistics course, Fort Lee, Va.; graduate of Joint Humanitarian Operations course; graduate of Joint Personnel Recovery Agency/Personnel Recovery Academy (SERE); graduate of Global Combat Support Systems – Army (GCSS-A); graduate of Global Combat Support Systems – Army (GCSS-A) Material and Execution Management course; graduate of Global Combat Support systems – Joint (GCSS-J); graduate of Simplified Acquisition course; graduate of Contracting Offices Representative course; graduate of Support Operations course; and graduate of Supervisor Development course.

His awards and honors include Bronze Star Medal; Presidential Support Badge; Defense Meritorious Service Medal; Army Commendation Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters; DOD Clara Barton Outstand Team Award Recipient (OIC for the Winning Joint Staff); FORSCOM Supply Excellence Award Runner-Up; and 7th (ID) Infantry Division Supply Excellence Award Winner.

McClerkin is married to Ladonna and has a son Camerin, who is 16 years old.
